Brit Turns Camera on Chi

Photographer and London native Abigail Zoe Martin moved from Madrid to Chicago with her family about three years ago.

A bit at loose ends as to what she should do, the portrait photographer decided to turn her camera toward the common and not so common people of Chicago.

The goal of the project was to photograph 100 people and has resulted in a photo exhibition titled “Chicago Lights” on display at Zhou B Art Gallery in Bridgeport through December 28, 2018.

Some of Martin’s previous photos are on permanent exhibit at the National Portrait Gallery in London.

The exhibit includes an audio component that allows visitors to use their smartphone to scan a QR code near each photograph to hear further information.

Jay Shefsky: Interesting folks from all walks of life are captured in “Chicago Lights,” a photography show where the common thread is the people who are woven into the fabric of the city.
